I disagree with this statement for three main reasons. Firstly, books are a very effective way to relieve stress. While playing games or surfing the Internet on your electronic devices might be more fun to do, it won't take long for you to get bored. Meanwhile, reading books may sounds boring, but as you read, you will become more and more attached to it, to a point that multiple hours will have gone by before you can put the book down. Secondly, the only advantages of e-Books, that is, books displayed on electronic devices, are portability and convenience. Aside from those, they are basically the same as printed books, if not inferior. In fact, printed books readers have been shown to retain information better than e-Books readers. Last but not least, you can read books anywhere, anytime, for as long as you like it, while you can use electronic devices for only so much time before they run out of battery.
In conclusion, books will never disappear, regardless of whether it is in the near future or the far future. One thing is certain, though, is that the number of books will decline over time.
