 Unit 1: Local Environment 

Last weekend, I visited Bat Trang, a famous ceramic village near Hanoi. As soon as I arrived, I was impressed by the busy atmosphere and beautiful pottery products displayed everywhere. I had a chance to watch experienced artisans carefully turning clay on pottery wheels to make beautiful bowls and vases. They were very friendly and even guided me to make a small cup by myself. It was an unforgettable experience. Buying some lovely ceramic souvenirs for my family made my day. I really love this place because it not only provides unique handicrafts but also preserves the traditional cultural values of our country. 

Unit 2: City Life 

Living in a big city is an exciting experience for many people, including me. One of the biggest advantages of city life is the convenience. There are plenty of modern facilities such as supermarkets, hospitals, and entertainment centers just a few minutes away. Moreover, public transport makes commuting much easier, and the career opportunities here are abundant. However, city life also has its drawbacks. People often suffer from severe air and noise pollution caused by heavy traffic. The cost of living is also very high, and the lifestyle is sometimes too fast and stressful. Despite these challenges, I still prefer living in the city. 

Unit 3: Teen Stress and Pressure 

As a ninth-grader, I often face a lot of stress and pressure from my schoolwork and examinations. My parents and teachers always expect me to get good grades and get into a prestigious high school. This makes me feel anxious, exhausted, and overloaded at times. To cope with this stress, I have learned to manage my time more effectively by making a realistic daily study timetable. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I often take a short break, listen to my favorite music, or play sports with my friends. I realize that staying positive and talking to others really helps me overcome teenage pressure. 

Unit 4: Life in the Past

Life in the past was very different from life today. In the past, people lived a simple and peaceful life without modern technology. Children used to play traditional outdoor games like hide-and-seek or flying kites instead of staring at smartphones. Families were closer because they often gathered around the fire to talk and share stories after a hard-working day. On the other hand, people had to face many hardships such as lack of electricity, medical care, and proper education. Today, technology makes our lives much more comfortable and convenient, but I still cherish the simple values of the past. 

Unit 5: Wonders of Vietnam (

Ha Long Bay is one of the most famous natural wonders of Vietnam that everyone should visit at least once. Located in Quang Ninh province, it is well-known for its thousands of spectacular limestone islands and caves. When you visit Ha Long Bay, you can take a boat cruise to admire the breathtaking scenery of the emerald water and unique rock formations. You can also explore beautiful caves like Sung Sot Cave or enjoy exciting outdoor activities like kayaking and swimming. The local seafood here is absolutely fresh and delicious. Ha Long Bay is truly a magical place that attracts millions of tourists every year. 

Unit 6: Vietnam: Then and Now 

My hometown has changed significantly over the past ten years. In the past, it was a poor rural area with muddy roads, small thatched houses, and vast paddy fields. Most people worked as farmers and used bicycles as their main means of transport. Today, the town looks completely different and modernized. Concrete roads have replaced the old paths, and many tall buildings and factories have been built. People now enjoy a much higher standard of living with better healthcare, education, and modern vehicles like motorbikes and cars. I am very proud of the positive transformation of my beloved hometown.

Unit 7: Recipes and Eating Habits

Eating habits play an essential role in maintaining our overall health and well-being. To stay healthy, we should follow a balanced diet that includes a variety of nutrients. We need to eat more fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains because they provide vitamins and minerals. It is also important to limit the consumption of fast food, sugary drinks, and processed snacks, which can cause obesity and heart diseases. Furthermore, we should never skip breakfast because it gives us energy for the whole day. Drinking enough water and cooking meals at home are also great ways to build healthy eating habits. 

Unit 8: Tourism 

If I have a chance to travel this summer, my dream destination will be Da Lat, the city of eternal spring. Da Lat is famous for its cool weather, beautiful landscapes, and colorful flower gardens all year round. During the vacation, I would love to visit Tuyen Lam Lake and Xuan Huong Lake to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. I also want to explore the night market to taste delicious local street food like grilled rice paper and warm soy milk. Traveling to Da Lat will help me relax and refresh my mind after a stressful school year. 

Unit 9: English in the World

Nowadays, English has become a global language and plays a vital role in our modern world. First of all, English is an effective communication tool that helps people from different countries understand each other. Knowing English allows us to make international friends and learn about diverse cultures. Secondly, English opens up great opportunities for our future careers. Most international companies require their employees to be fluent in English. Finally, it helps us access a vast amount of knowledge on the Internet, as most websites use English. In short, mastering English is a key to success in the future. 

Unit 10: Space Travel 

Living and working in space must be an extraordinary experience for any astronaut. Astronauts have to undergo intensive training before they can travel into space. Inside the International Space Station, they experience microgravity, which means everything floats around. Therefore, they have to eat special packaged food and exercise for two hours every day to prevent muscle loss. Their main duties include conducting scientific experiments, repairing equipment, and taking photos of Earth. Despite the challenges and loneliness of being far away from home, astronauts help humans discover new things about the mysterious universe.

Unit 11: Changing Roles in Society

The roles of women in society have changed dramatically and will continue to evolve in the future. In the past, women were traditionally expected to stay at home, do housework, and raise children. However, in modern society, more and more women are pursuing higher education and building successful careers. In the future, I believe that gender equality will be fully achieved. Women will take on more leadership positions in politics, business, and technology. Men will also share more domestic chores and childcare with their wives. This positive change will definitely make our society better and fairer. 

Unit 12: My Future Career 

Choosing a future career is a very important decision, and my dream job is to become an English teacher. I love working with children and want to share my knowledge with the next generation. As a teacher, I will design creative and interactive lessons to make learning English fun and exciting for my students. Moreover, a good teacher can inspire students, build their confidence, and help them become better citizens.
