Greetings from the charming town of Hoi An in central Vietnam! I just had to write and tell you about this magical place — I truly think it’s somewhere you must visit at least once in your life.

Hoi An is like a step back in time. The Old Town is full of narrow, lantern-lit streets, ancient yellow buildings, and riverside cafés where time seems to slow down. It’s a place where history whispers through every corner, from the old merchant houses to the Japanese Covered Bridge.

Why should you come? Well, first of all, the atmosphere is peaceful and romantic, perfect for strolling or cycling around. It’s small enough to explore on foot, and every turn offers a picture-perfect moment. Plus, the locals are incredibly warm and welcoming — always smiling and happy to share their culture.

One of the biggest advantages? The food! Being a chef, I couldn’t resist trying everything — from Cao Lau noodles to white rose dumplings. There’s a cooking class around every corner too, so if you want to learn the secrets behind the flavors, this is the place.

You’ll also love the tailor shops — you can have clothes custom-made in just a day or two, and they’re beautiful and affordable. If you’re into crafts, lantern-making workshops are a unique experience!

But — just to be honest — there are a couple of things to keep in mind. The town can get quite crowded during peak tourist season (especially in the evenings), and during the rainy season (Oct–Dec), it sometimes floods! But if you come in spring or early autumn, the weather is lovely, and it’s not too packed.

In short: come to Hoi An if you’re looking for beauty, culture, warmth, and a bit of magic.
