     Câu trực tiếp: Thì tương lai đơn, một lời hứa bộc phát (S + will/shall + V)

     Câu gián tiếp: would <- will (lùi thì từ tương lai đơn -> tương lai trong quá khứ)

     studied <- study (lùi thì từ hiện tại đơn -> quá khứ đơn)

     Các đáp án còn lại chưa lùi thì: have studied -> had studied, study -> studied, am studying -> was studying

3. C

     Lùi thì: lived -> had lived (quá khứ đơn -> quá khứ hoàn thành),

                 ago -> before

4. D

     Lùi thì: "What does this word mean?" -> what that word meant

     Câu tường thuật dạng câu hỏi: S + động từ tường thuật + từ để hỏi + S + V (lùi thì)

     this -> that, mean -> meant (lùi thì hiện tại đơn -> quá khứ đơn)

5. A

     Câu trực tiếp: thì hiện tại tiếp diễn (S + am/is/are + V-ing)

     -> Câu gián tiếp: lùi về thì quá khứ tiếp diễn (S + was/were + V-ing)

     is playing -> was playing

6. C

     Lùi thì: "Where did you go last week?" -> where I had gone the week before

     Câu tường thuật dạng câu hỏi => where did you go -> where I had gone

     last week -> the week before

Cách làm:

- Từ dấu hiệu hoặc cách dùng của câu tường thuật (câu gián tiếp) suy ra được câu trực tiếp chưa lùi thì, hoặc ngược lại.

- Từ đó xác định nên lùi về thì nào, và hoàn thành câu.
