Công thức cho câu gián tiếp khi câu trực tiếp ở thì quá khứ đơn: S + said (that) + S + had + V_ed/V3

1. Tim said: "I saw ghosts last night."

=> Tim said that he had seen ghosts the night before.

2. They said: "We met each other last year."

=> They said that they had met each other the previous year.

3. Tom said: "My aunt visited us last week."

=> Tom said that his aunt had visited them the previous week.

4. Emily said: "My mother tidied up my bedroom yesterday."

-> Emily said that her mother had tidied up her bedroom the day before.

5. Sam said: "My teacher told us to do the exercise on page 54."

=>>Sam said that his teacher had told them to do the exercise on page 54. (Động từ "told" là động từ khiếm khuyết nên không lùi thì)
