I came to Ha Long with so much excitement! I have heard the legend about the bay, about the dragons sinking to create islands of many shapes and sizes in the heart of the bay. On the way, images of villages, houses, and streets spread out before our eyes... How lovely is the country of Vietnam!
 
There's Ha Long Bay! I shouted with joy when the car stopped. The sky and water are truly a deep blue color. Before my eyes, the cool ocean water and small islands undulating in the bay are spread out. Board the boat to the bay to see all the magnificent beauty of the scenery here.
 
Standing on the boat, I heard the cool wind caressing my hair. The sun spread out, making the sea water sparkle. The deeper you go into the bay, the more you feel like the water in the bay is a block of jade but soft and flexible. Looking around, we see a vast expanse of gentle water waves. In the distance, the famous Bai Chay suspension bridge looks like a beautiful hand waving to tourists. Going a little deeper, all around us are small islands intertwined with each other like an attractive maze.
 
Each island has its own, very strange shape. Legend has it that 99 dragons sank into the bay, making the sea water here a magical blue color. Each dragon has turned into an island, so this place is called Ha Long Bay. Each island is named according to the shape that people imagine of that island, which is Trong Mai island, which is Con Ga island, which is Dau Go cave,... and Ti Top cave, Sung Sot cave. Again! Perhaps people are too surprised by the wonderful creations bestowed on Ha Long Bay. When we get closer, we see that the islands here are made up of giant limestone blocks. Through rain and sun, they have been eroded and have the strange shape they have today. Each island is covered with brave and resilient trees: the limestone itself has very few nutrients, the trees have to cling to the rocks themselves, their roots secrete a fluid to be able to "digest" the material. But you have to come to the caves to see all the strange beauty of Ha Long. Entering Sung Sot cave (maybe because the cave is so stunningly beautiful?) we see inside the cave there are small underground water veins, drops of water falling from the ceiling of the cave carrying a few tiny grains of sand. These sand grains do not follow the falling water but embrace each other, over thousands and millions of years, they form sparkling stalactites. The caves here are all created by such stalactites, which are the result of an amazingly miraculous and persistent natural movement. The cave is very deep and wide, can accommodate up to thousands of people. The cave floor is regular rock, and the cave ceiling is full of stalactites. Stalactites also come in a variety of shapes, surprising visitors. Their common shape is cylindrical, tapering towards the tail down into the cave. In particular, there are places where stalactites form meaningful shapes on the cave walls and ceiling. It's a picture of a couple on their wedding day, a picture of a chicken, a monkey, etc. Under the light, those images sparkle magically and are incredibly beautiful.
 
Stepping out of the cave is to set foot on the top of the island. Standing high up overlooking the vast expanse of Ha Long Bay, once again we can see around us the vast, cool blue sky. The small islands undulate as if embracing the bay. As for the small boats of fishermen and groups of tourists gathered at the foot of the island like children pampering their parents...
 
Leaving Ha Long Bay, I still feel amazed and delighted by the beauty of the bay - a rare wonder of the Fatherland. I feel more proud of my country and more aware of the responsibility to contribute to preserving and building the country. My summer vacation has passed with so many interesting and useful things.
