In this day and age, learning English is accorded a higher priority than mastering any of the native tongues spoken in the area. In my opinion, it is of the utmost significance to become fluent in the native tongues of the area.
The globalization process was greatly aided by the use of the English language. Numerous nations are in desperate need of a language that can be used for communication. Without knowing this language, conducting business on a global scale would have been literally impossible. English has become a status symbol as well as a measure of a person's education. If a person is unable to communicate in English, the individual is ridiculed or even socially blacklisted. As a result, in my opinion, basic knowledge of English is now required to make a mark in the world and society.
On the other hand, it's important to know the local language because our culture and traditions are intricately intertwined with it. When people stop speaking their native tongue, it has a devastating impact that can be felt throughout society. Here are some strategies to prevent the loss of regional languages: First and foremost, many schools need to hire more language teachers so that students can learn these languages. Second, we need to hold campaigns and awareness fairs to promote the use of our local language. Finally, local languages should be encouraged at school and at work so people will speak them and not rely on English.
To conclude, in the modern era it is crucial to master English, but people should not forget their roots and local languages should not be ignored.
