First Dragon children
Once upon a time, in the land of Lac Viet Lac Viet - now the northern region of our country, there was a god named Lac Long Quan, the son of the god Long Nu. God himself Dragon, extraordinary health and many miracles. Gods live in the aquarium, sometimes go ashore, helping people eliminate monsters such as Ngu Tinh, Ho Tinh, and Moc Tinh and teaching people how to grow crops and raise livestock.
At that time, in the high mountains of the North, there lived an extremely beautiful fairy, belonging to the Shen Nong lineage, whose name was Au Co. She likes to travel here and there, likes to go to places with beautiful scenery. Hearing that the land of Lac Viet had many exotic flowers and herbs, she immediately went to visit. Here, Au Co and Lac Long Quan met by chance. Two people love each other, so husband and wife. They live in the Long Trang palace.
Not long after, Au Co became pregnant. But strangely enough, when she gave birth, she gave birth to a bag of hundreds of eggs, and a hundred eggs hatched into a hundred white, ruddy, handsome boys. A hundred children grow up as fast as the wind, without needing to suckle, but still grow as fast as the wind, as healthy as a god.
Some time later, because Lac Long Quan was not used to living on land and missed the sea, he returned to the aquarium, leaving Au Co and his cubs on land. Day after day, Au Co waited and waited, impatiently waiting for her husband with a sad mood. Finally, she called her husband up and lamented:
- Why did you leave your wife and not raise your children with your wife?
When Lac Long Quan heard this, he had to tell Au Co that:
- I am a native of Dragon, used to live in deep water, she is a fairy, used to live in high mountains. People on land and people in the water, with different temperaments and habits, can hardly live in the same place for a long time. Now I will send fifty men into the sea, she will take fifty men to the mountains, and we will divide and rule in all directions. People in the mountains, people in the sea, when there is a problem, they help each other, not forgetting their promise.
Au Co obeyed, said goodbye to her husband, took fifty children up the mountain, to Phong Chau land. The eldest son was honored as a king, took the title Hung Vuong, founded the country Van Lang, and established the capital in Phong Chau (now Bac Hac, Lam Thao, Phu Tho). The court had civil and martial mandarins (Lac general, Lac marquis). The king's son is called lang, the king's daughter is called concubine. If the father dies, the eldest son will inherit the throne. Eighteen successive kings took the title of Hung Vuong. Since then, our people have always united wholeheartedly, loved each other, defended the country together, and stood up many times to fight foreign invaders.
Until today, when many decades have passed, the legend of the Dragon and the Fairy is still preserved among our people, from generation to generation. The legend not only explains the noble origin of the ancestors, but also affirms that Vietnamese prostitutes are all brothers and sisters, must unite to love each other, live worthy of their origin.
