(want to .... = fancy doing ....)

--> I regret having taken the job.

(regret + V-ing: hối hận vì đã làm ...)

3) "Why don't we travel by train?", he said.

--> He suggested travelling by train.

(suggest doing sth: đề nghị làm gì ...)

4) Could you turn the radio down, please?

--> Would you mind turning the radio down?

(Could you do sth = Would you mind doing sth: Bạn có thể ... / Bạn có phiền ...?)

5) The driver said it was true that he didn't have a license.

--> The driver admitted not having a license.

(admit + V-ing: thừa nhận ...)

6) It's not easy to master a language.

--> Mastering a language is not easy.

(It's + ADJ + to V = Ving is + ADJ)

7) The police didn't allow anyone to come near the scene.

--> The police banned everyone from coming near the scene.

(not allow sb to V = ban sb from V-ing)

8) It took me an hour to finish the exercises.

--> I spent an hour finishing the exercises.

(it takes sb + time + to V  =  Sb spends + time + V-ing)
