In the community of ethnic groups in Vietnam, the Ede people are long-standing residents in the Central and Central Highlands with many typical traditional cultures. Traces of the origin of the Ede people are reflected in many epics, architectural works, visual arts, and folklore. Up to now, the Ede community still maintains the family according to the matrilineal tradition. The Ede people belong to the group of Malay language inhabitants, originating from the sea for a long time. Although they migrated to Central Vietnam and then migrated to the Central Highlands around the end of the 8th to 15th centuries, in the depths of the Ede culture, the wharf and the boat are still images. The photo never fades. In the Ede family, the host is a woman. Under the matrilineal system, children carry the mother's last name, and sons do not inherit. Men get married and live in their wives' houses. Only the daughter inherits the property, the youngest daughter inherits the house to worship her grandparents and is responsible for taking care of her elderly parents. When a daughter gets married, the house will continue to extend to the new family. Looking at the windows of the long house, you can tell if the Ede girl is married or not. If the window is open, the woman is married. In production labor, the Ede people used to mainly hunt, gather, work in the fields, fish, knit, weave... The agricultural feature of the Ede people is crop rotation, ie. In addition to the cultivated land, there are also areas of fallow land so that the land has time to rest and recover. Today, the Ede people not only work in upland fields, but also associate with processing agricultural products, growing industrial crops such as coffee, rubber, pepper, cocoa... In addition to farming, the Ede also raise livestock. cattle, elephants. People in Ede villages also make wickerwork, bronze bowls, wooden furniture, jewelry, pottery... to serve spiritual rituals and daily life activities. In the spiritual life, like many other ethnic groups in the Central Highlands, the Ede consider Giang (Heaven) the supreme deity, and since ancient times, the Ede people have considered natural things and phenomena to have their own gods. : god of rain, god of mountain, god of river, god of forest...and according to the concept of the people, every thing from grass to house, gongs, gongs...have a soul inside. According to that spiritual tradition, in today's cultural life, the Ede people in many places still keep many festivals, rituals, and traditional cultural beauty with their national identity such as: : Buffalo stabbing ceremony, new house worshiping ceremony, life cycle worshiping ceremony, coming of age ceremony. The Ede have a rich treasure of oral literature including: myths, fairy tales, folk songs, proverbs, especially famous Khans (epics, epics) such as: Khan Dam San, Khan Dam Kteh M 'lan... The Ede are a people who love to sing, enjoy playing music and are very gifted in this field. The popular musical instruments of the Ede people include: gongs, gongs, drums, flutes, Khen, Goc, Kni, Dinh Nam lute...Today, life in Ede villages is changing rapidly. But all changes do not lose the traditional cultural practices towards the origin, towards the ancestors. But the unique cultural customs of the Ede people are contributing to enriching the cultural identity in the Vietnamese ethnic community.
