`-` Câu tường thuật dạng Wh-ques:

`->` S + asked O/ wondered/ wanted to know + wh-q + S V (lùi thì)

`-` Câu tường thuật dạng yêu cầu, mệnh lệnh:

`->` S + told/ asked + O + (not) to V

Lưu ý: Động từ tường thuật ở dạng hiện tại, không lùi thì
