I think cities will be more livable, more sustainable and more resilient in the future.
Today, most cities are built for cars, not people. The parking spaces, the streets, the traffic lights and even the air quality are designed around making it easy to drive but that doesn't make them liveable or sustainable.
In the future, cities will be designed around people. Streets will be shared between cars and pedestrians, with plenty of bike lanes and green spaces. The traffic signals that determine who gets to go first at intersections will be timed to be efficient for both pedestrians and drivers. And we'll have better transit systems that get people where they want to go without using cars at all.
As technology improves, we'll see an increase in urban farming and other ways for neighborhoods to become more self-sufficient. We'll also see a resurgence in local manufacturing that makes it easier for people to create things locally instead of shipping them from halfway across the world.
Cities today have concentrated populations of people living in the same place. This means when major infrastructure fails (like a power grid), lots of people are affected at once and it can take days or weeks to fix or replace. In the future, we'll find ways to build infrastructure that is more resilient.

In my opinion, The city of the future is designed for accessibility and safety as more people populate urban areas. Residents have healthier lives with more streamlined access to nature, services, and automated technology. Shared spaces and amenities increase human interaction and allow for smaller and micro-size homes.

The thoughts of people on future cities vary greatly. Those who are pessimistic believe that as pollution in our cities increases, it will make them unsafe and unhealthy to live in. Pessimists point out that over the past 20 years, both global warming and pollution have increased significantly, but that governments lack the means to effectively manage them. There are no indications that this issue will be resolved any time soon. Additionally, an increasing number of people are moving to major cities from rural areas in search of employment. Cities will consequently overpopulate. More people, more waste, and more traffic are the results of this. These variables collectively will increase pollution. On the other side, optimists think that because of significant advancements in science and medicine, city dwellers will enjoy a better quality of life. People will receive better, quicker, and more effective medical care thanks to modern equipment and well-equipped hospitals in urban areas. How about issues with the environment? Additionally, optimists believe that scientists will discover methods to lower the cost of renewable energy sources and make them accessible to everyone. In the next 20 years, they anticipate that these energy sources will gradually replace fossil fuels including gas, coal, and oil. The environment will then be cleaner and healthier for city people.
