Stonehenge was one (1) _____ my favourite places on our tour of England last year. It’s near the city of Salisbury. It’s a ring of huge standing stones about 4 metres high. Experts think it (2) _____ built in three stages between 3,000 (3) _____ 1,500 years ago.Building something like that must (4) _____ been really important at the time but nobody knows (5) _____ sure why they did it. Archaeologists have found evidence of human bone from (6) _____ far back as 3,000 years ago so it’s possible it was a place where people were buried. Some people think (7) _____ it could be a kind of calendar because of the location of the stones when (8) _____ sun rises. People have even suggested (9) _____ was a landing site for visitors from outer space! (10) _____ the reason was for building it, I loved visiting it!
