what are the advantages and disadvantages of being the eldest child an extended family ?

Being the eldest child has its pros and cons that you can easily find out. Some children love to be the oldest one but others prefer being younger.

The first advantage is that you can enjoy certain privileges, normally parents have more time to devote and pay attention to you because for a certain period time, you are their only child. Morover, you are in authority. Similarly, you can order your younger brother or sister and they have no choice but to obey. This can help you easily to handle problems at home when your parents are out for work. In addition, you are the elder one so you can give them advices. You are the one had experienced more than your siblings and they really need your opinion. 

On the other hand, there are some disadvantages. Firstly, your siblings depend on you a lot so you have to be a babysitter! This may be fun but also annoying in some ways. For example when plans are cancelled just because there has to be someone to stay at home with your little kid. Secondly, you will have to do or teach them their homework and projects as well, this may make you feel stressful. Last but not least, your pressure will be more. Your younger siblings will follow your footsteps so you need to do proper things.

To sum up, being the elest child has many advantages but also a lot of disadvantages. And in my perspective, i do not want to be the oldest one in my family.
