=> was playing

Vì hoạt động gãy tay (broke his arm) xen vào giữa hoạt động chính(hoạt động dài) nên dùng was playing.

Vì đây là hoạt động sảy ra trong quá khứ, đã hoàn thành rồi nên dùng past simple.

Vì hoạt động left là hoạt động ngắn nên dùng past simple.

=> were walking

Vì hoạt động the storm started xen vào giữa hoạt động đằng trước nên dùng were walking.

=> moved
