Người Khmer tổ chức lễ đút cốm dẹp ước nguyện những điều tốt đẹp trước khi nuốt với sự chứng kiến của người lớn tuổi và thần Mặt Trăng, vật cúng trăng là thành quả mùa vụ để tỏ lòng biết ơn đến Thần Mặt Trăng - vị thần đang mang đến cho họ một vụ mùa tốt tươi và những điều ước tốt đẹp.Trong dịp Lễ hội có các hoạt động văn hóa chính như: lễ cúng trăng, thả đèn gió, đèn nước; hội đua Ghe diễn ra cuộc thi thả đèn gío. Đèn gió bay lên cao tượng trưng cho những ước vọng, nền tin của người thả. Gửi tới thần Mặt Trăng, và luôn nghĩ đến thần đang nhìn mình và ủng hộ mình.Trong dịp Lễ hội có các hoạt động văn hóa chính như: lễ cúng trăng, thả đèn gió, đèn nước; hội đua Ghe Ngo. Trong lễ hội vào buổi tối, diễn ra cuộc thi thả đèn gió. Đèn gió bay lên cao tượng trưng cho những ước vọng, nền tin của người thả. Gửi tới thần Mặt Trăng, và luôn nghĩ đến thần đang nhìn mình và ủng hộ mình. Trước ngày Rằm, sẽ có một cuộc đua ghe Ngo. Nghi thức truyền thống tiễn đưa thần nước, sau mùa gieo trồng về với biển cả. Cũng là nghi thức tôn giáo tưởng nhớ rằng thần rắn Nagar xưa biến thành khúc gỗ để đưa Phật qua sông. Là một trò chơi dân gian, vừa tỏ sức mạnh vừa tỏ sự đoàn kết. Mọi người dân đủ các thành phần tập trung hai bên dòng sông, nhạc ngũ âm đánh tưng bừng hai bên dòng. Các đội đua từ các tỉnh lân cận, huyện trong tỉnh đó tập trung cùng nhau thi. Phong trào Đua Ghe Ngo phát triển mạnh nhất tại tỉnh có đông đồng bào Khmer như Trà Vinh
