3. He told me more people were aware of that problem.

⇒ Chuyển từ câu trực tiếp sang trần thuật: lùi thì; thay đổi đại từ xưng hô cho phù hợp ; thay đổi từ chỉ thời gian, nơi chốn ( vd: here -> there, tomorrow -> the next day ... )

4. She told the boy to do his work as she had directed.

⇒ tell + SO + to V/ not to V
