Tet is the most well-known holiday in Vietnam. It is celebrated all over the country. It mostly goes on for 3 days: 1st, 2nd and 3rd of January - Lunar Calendar.
Before Tet, people who work far away from home go back to join their family for the holiday. People clean up their houses, decorate it with Mai and Dao blossom, as well as other bonsais. 

On Tet holiday, people cook feasts with various dishes to show dedication to their ancestors. A dish of 5 different kinds of fruit is also put on the altar as a tradition. 

People go to relatives' and friends' places to wish them good luck, prosperity and health. Children are always excited since they will get their "salary" - lucky money in the red envelope on this occasion. 

Tet is the oppoturnity for everyone to gather with their family, to rest after a long hard-working year, to refresh and prepare for a brand new year of greatness and happiness.

My new school.

I study at .... secondary school. There are 20 classes in my school. The school yard is quite large and convenient. We often do leisure activities on the yard at recess. It's very pleasant to play on the yard because there are many tall trees that give the shades so we don't have to worry about the sun. The classrooms are very nice and fully equipped. The desks and chairs are suitable for our height. We have the blackboard, the television and projector screen. My school is in the top 20 best schools in the country. I love my school a lot and will cherish it for the next 4 years spending here.

Last month, my family moved into a new house. It's a three-story house on Hai Ba Trung street. It has nice furniture, good equipment and very convenient. The living room is the largest space where we can spend quality time together on watching TV, listening to music or playing card games. The kitchen is so clean and fresh with all the nice utensils. My bedroom is not too big but very cozy and tidy. I will try my best to keep it as pretty as I can.

My parents worked really hard for the new house. I'm thankful for them for giving me all things I ever need. I love them and the new house a lot.

I live on Hai Ba Trung street. The area is quite crowded with vehicles and people all day since it is near the Old Quarter. There are all kinds of shops side by side: clothes, foods, drinks, ... As crowded as it is, people in the area are so friendly that you could never find anywhere else in Hanoi. I enjoy staying here since it is very close to my school and my parents' workplace that we can just walk to school or work.
