The concept of gender equality implies that men and women should have equal rights in all aspects such as politics, education, health, etc. Gender equality aims to eliminate gender discrimination and create equal opportunities for men and women in socio-economic development and human resource development. In the family, husband and wife have the same rights and obligations in caring and educating children and have the rights to own common property. In Vietnam, over the past 20 years, socio-economic development and dramatic changes in the family and society have brought about many significant changes in gender and women's issues. Women's contributions not only create a progressive and civilized society but also develop the woman herself. However, at present, there is still quite a large disparity between women's roles and social status. Therefore, to create a balance between the position and role of women, it is necessary to raise awareness of the whole society on gender and gender equality to gradually erase the gender gap in our country.
