This year, my parents allowed me to visit my hometown. That made me feel very excited because I had not been able to visit my hometown for a long time.

At exactly three o'clock in the afternoon, Dad drove the family home. It took us almost two hours to arrive. The grandparents happily came out to welcome the whole family. I greeted them loudly. That night, the whole family gathered around the reunion dinner. It was cozy and fun! The next morning, I woke up very early to see my hometown. The street was still very quiet. Occasionally, there were the voices of farmers who had to go to the fields to work. Just a moment later, the road was filled with laughter and the sound of cars in the village. In the afternoon, I went with my parents to the Tet market. The district market opened early so that everyone could prepare their belongings and welcome the coming New Year. The market atmosphere in the days before Tet was always bustling. Spring colors were everywhere. Peach blossom buds were still shy. After an afternoon of walking around the market, my mother also bought items for Tet, and my father chose a pot of peach blossoms. On the afternoon of the twenty-ninth day of the New Year, everyone in the family cleaned the house together to welcome the new year. I also volunteered to help my parents clean their house. On the afternoon of the thirty-first day, all preparations were finished. The whole family gathered around the New Year's Eve tray. I tried to stay up until twelve o'clock at night to watch the fireworks and receive lucky money from my grandparents and parents. On the first days of the new year, everyone in the family went together to wish their relatives a happy new year. Everyone's face was radiant. The weather was as warm as people's hearts. The Tet holidays in the homeland had a wonderful atmosphere.

Celebrating Tet in the countryside for the first time was a memorable experience. I felt more love for my family and my hometown.
